ValhallaCon News
ValhallaCon happened, and everyone had such a great time they want to do it again next year. Thanks to everyone who helped out, and everyone who showed up.
Pre-support now for only $25.
Congrats to Nancy Kress, winner of the 2009 Hugo Award for Best Novella for her story "The Erdmann Nexus" appearing in Asimov's Oct/Nov 2008.
This just in -- the concom has decided to scale back ValhallaCon a little bit: one track of programming
plus informal coffee klatsches, gaming, and a central hospitality room. So we've
lowered the price to $35,
where it will stay through the end of the convention.
We still have lots of great guests,
including writer guest of honor Nancy Kress and science guest
of honor Peter Ward,
a paleontologist and professor of Biology and of Earth and Space Sciences at the University of Washington.
Other great guests include author Alma Alexander ,
editor Patrick Swenson (Fairwood Press),
and author Cat Rambo, as well as up and coming authors from the Bellingham area.
We have a new dealer liason,
Jeff Currey. Please
send him any questions about the Dealer's Room.
We'll be holding a Game Day at Eagles in Bellingham on July 18th.
More details will be posted when available.
Our current membership rate is $45, see our
Registration
page for details.
Yay! We have a date and venue. September 4th–6th, 2009.
That's Friday through Sunday of Labor Day weekend. It wil be held at
the lovely
Bellingham Airport Hampton Inn.
That's at 3985 Bennett Drive, Bellingham, WA, 98225, 360-676-7700.
The room rate for the event will be $89/night.
ValhallaCon is the successor to VikingCon, the Bellingham SF/F
convention. Like its predecessor, ValhallaCon
will take place in Bellingham, Washington.
The con chair is Echo Mae.
